Kings United lift the Senior Invitation Cup

A brace from Zack Thomas ensured Kings United took home the Senior Invitation Cup after a 3-1 win over Pro Parts United.

Zack opened the scoring with less than two minutes on the clock as he headed home a Mac Durling cross and Kings held this lead into the half time interval. Pro Parts equalised early in the second half when Dave Cove played in Sam Clarke who beat the onrushing Kings keeper to slot into the empty net. Great defending by the Pro Parts defence denied Kings on a couple of occasions but the pressure eventually paid off when Zack Thomas grabbed his second of the game.

Kings then added a third when Mac Durling arrived at the far post to convert a great cross from Ross Griffin. Pro Parts piled forward in search of goals to get back in the game but were met by a stubborn Kings defence who held on to claim the Trophy.

Player of the Match was awarded to Ben Winsor.
